I want to plant perenials this year but dont know where to start. I’m new at growing flowers outside and want easy to maintain, beautiful, hearty flowers that can withstand the north-west region( pictures and websites would be a plus).

Sooo after all day i got the black rubber thing around the tree put the steaks in so that it stays in place. I put down 2 bags of top soil and now i have to go get more! It was close to impossible to get rid of the grass around the tree so i put the top soil over My friend says that the grass will grow through the top soil so what are my options i heard you can put a tarp and lay the soil over it? Please help I ready to jst give up

Is there anything you need to do to a half whiskey barrel before planting flowers in it?
What I mean is…the smell of whiskey coming from a whiskey barrel is so strong, it seems like it would be toxic to the plants!
Does it affect them in any way?
