I’m realizing that I’m not very good at designing our flower garden and I thought maybe I could get some help online. I’m working with annual flowers right now. I did a search and found a couple of sites, but I’m looking for something simple - maybe with pictures and simple information. Any helpful sites would be appreciated. Thanks.
Where are some good sites on the internet to help me design my flower garden?

What’s a cheap alternative to wood chips in flower gardens?
illinoismommy asked:
I had a termite guy inspect our home before we bought it this last fall and he said we have no termites now but that by having the perimeter of the house line with wood chips (there is a continuous flower garden around the house coming out about 2 feet from the base of the house) I was setting myself up for failure. Should I use a khaki colored gravel? What else can I use that is economical….because I have A LOT of ground to cover with it. Thanks!

How to revive an old flower garden (when you have a black thumb)?
vacationland asked:
We moved into an older home last summer that was owned by an elderly lady who passed away. She had a beautiful garden on the side of the house with all kinds of perenials–daylilies, irises, daffodils, tulips, daisies, etc. We were too busy with the house to do anything with it then, but now things are coming up, and we’d like to bring it back to it’s former glory. Trouble is, it’s overrun with weeds, and we can’t tell what’s coming up at this point. How do we clean this garden up if we can’t tell what’s weeds and what’s good stuff? Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks!

Pollinate one flower to do the whole plant?
barbara f asked:
We have one tomato plant in our flower garden that has a few small tomatoes on it. I’m concerned about watering from above and washing away pollen from the remaining flowers lest they not make tomatoes. My husband thinks that once the plant is pollinated, then the other flowers will make tomatoes anyway. Is that true, or does an insect need to hit every single flower? Thanks.
