I live on a Caribbean island. I’d like to put in a cut flower garden so I can do flower arrangements. Right now I have a lot of bird of paradise flowers, but I’m looking for some variety. I’d like to order some seeds from the US, and pick up whatever I can find locally. But I’m not sure what holds over well in a vase.
Know of any sites or forums on gardening in the tropics?

I am trying to plan what flowers or plants to plant in front of our house. The front of the house is in the shade because of two large pine trees that are in front of our house. The previous owner had a lot of hostas which I pulled out because they were overgrown and blocked the sidewalk so people couldn’t even walk on it. Are there any plants which would do well in the shade and look nice with a red brick house?

I have 3 grown kitties, and they all have started usng my new flower garden for their litter box . I guess they like the soft dirt. I heard that moth balls will help, so I tried sprinkling some around on top of the dirt, but it didnt help at all. Any help is appreciated very much. Thanks

2. Is mulch or crushed stone better is the garden is butting the house
3. do I clean out all debri that has been building up over the years?

(We just moved into a new place and I dont have time to do the preperations necessary to plant things this year but looking forward to next)

I have a strip of lawn in the front of my house that I want to turn into a little flower garden. How do I go about it, because all that is there now is grass? Do I just dig up all the grass chunks along with the dirt? Is there anything to do to stop the grass from growing back? Any help would be appreciated.
